REV. DR. DIANE JOHNSON, Ph.D.,

Rev. Dr. Johnson is founder and president of Mmapeu Management Consulting, a national consulting firm committed to transformational change in communities, not-for-profits and individual leaders. She is particularly interested in and committed to aligning mission, vision and values for businesses, enterprises and initiatives creating new models of community engagement and development. An ordained United Church of Christ minister she responds to her call to serve at the intersection of spirituality, faith and social justice. Her doctorate is from Tufts University where she received a Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Studies – sociology, organizational behavior and non-profit studies (her dissertation focused on cross-sectoral leadership and collaboration between the business, government, social and community sectors). Her firm has consulted and worked with over eight thousand individuals all over the country and internationally (Rev. Dr. Diane has worked in South Africa, Mexico, Zambia and Zimbabwe).
Since the firm’s inception in 1992, Diane has implemented strategic development, cultural capacity, organizational capacity building, leadership development, program design, program evaluation and leadership development for such organizations as the Kresge Foundation, Episcopal Impact Fund, San Francisco Department of Public Health, Social Venture Network, Habitat for Humanity International, The Utility Reform Network, the Post Carbon Institute, NeighborWorks America, Rockwood Leadership Institute, W.K. Kellogg Foundation and the C.S. Mott Foundation. She delights in working with organizations building profound solutions that fundamentally address our most pressing problems. Rev. Dr. Diane is also a gourmet chef; a djembe, djun djun, and doumbek drummer; passionate dancer; and cannot walk by a dog without stopping to pet, coo and play with it. Her cat Cleo is constantly wondering why she travels so much.
